Anarey Studios is a creative cooperative that seeks to synergize fresh ideas, with the resources and technology that inspire them. As the brain child of American multimedia artist and creative director Eileen Anastasia Reynolds , Anarey has been the nucleus of a variety of ongoing collaborations and completed works that have spanned film, tv, and galleries around the globe. Since it’s inception, Anarey has continuously sought to foster the growth of emerging artists and nurture the ideas of those that seek to push the envelope.
Over the years, Eileen has fabricated costumes, props, stop motion animation puppets, designed and painted large scale murals, conducted animation workshops, written and directed short films, worked as a scenic artist and props person in the film/tv industry, and photographed in over 9 countries while living and working in Singapore and Southeast Asia from 2005-2012. Following her stint in Asia, Eileen became a visiting instructor in the experimental animation program at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
Eileen is a recipient of a variety of grants including two research grants from the Nanyang Technological University, the Paul Blankenship Memorial Grant for Emerging Artists, and an artist grant from the Embassy of the United States, Singapore. Exhibitions include the University of Malaysia Museum and Gallery, Post-Museum in Singapore, SITE: Santa Fe- Eighth International Biennale, “The Dissolve”, “One Night Stand”, Currents International New Media Festival, ISEA2012: Albuquerque: Machine Wilderness, Albuquerque Art Museum. Festivals include San Francisco Int’l Film Festival; Trickfilm International Film Festival, Stuttgart; Slamdance International Film Festival, Utah; Marfa International Film Festival, Marfa; Women in the Director’s Chair, Chicago; Lyon Asian Film Festival, France among others.
